My favourite Blondie and Mongrel-maybe a spoiler

The latest in the Ai No Kusabi series, and it still hasn't slowed down! It's invigorating and thrilling and will raise emotions in you and will have you wanting to ring necks and knock heads together. This story is interesting, dark, vivid, erotic, fun, twisted and pulls you in deeper and deeper into this world of Blondie and Mongrel. Even the OVA is amazing to watch and the books are amazing to read. I enjoy the character development, the insight into their minds and how they act in different situations. Kirie's escape and fugitive status is enjoyable as he gets what's coming to him; we see further into his delusion mind and can see what he's going through and his reasons for turning over Guy and everything he's done. I do enjoy Guy turning the tables and handing him over to Katze. Never liked Guy much anyway, and seeing Riki's 'pet' status sinking deeper into his soul is amazing because he keeps going back and he wants Iason's approval, he can't stay away no matter how much he hates him. The dynamic is great. The books are awesome and the OVA is awesome.

A Yaoi Classic, Vol. 6 of 8

It's a yaoi classic; very original; the translated prose very rich (actually, a little bit florid but no worse than The Lord of the Rings); the plot and main characters engaging/involving; interspersed with hot, steamy, and/but not unnecessary (homo)sexual scenes that give the relationships in the story even more (emotional) impact. I love it. If one doesn't know how it ends, it's the kind of novel that will leave the reader restless and dying for the conclusion. But beware, it's only 1 volume out of 8.

What can I say... The books although seemingly confusining to say the least are Truly works of Art! I only found out about these books through an other author Kira who writes Taming Riki books based off of these works. After reading her works I bought all of these books so far as well as the OVA dvd. The world of Riki is strange and very SCI-FI. You get to see how both sides live in this book and how robots view sex and how one very powerful one falls in love with a morgrel human who in turns falls as well. You get to see what lengths people will go throught to get what they want and the cost of it.

A unique book. It is meant to make you think as you read, and illustrate how many of our relationships are built on assumptions and attitudes which are not necessary, or even rational. Read a page, and stop to think which relationship you know which follows the pattern you just read.

The Emperor's New Clothes

I've found no value in this book, despite holding Laing in high esteem for his compassion toward the mentally ill and his provocative challenges to the status quo. I'm thankful that some of his other books have been of so much value to me; this one I don't get.
"Knots" consists of an opening page which suggests that the patterns that follow would correlate significantly with actual problems in human relationships, followed by the patterns themselves. However, there is no example presented of any specific real incident involving any of these "knots". There is no suggestion as to how one might avoid such "knots" if one found oneself in them. There is no reference to other works of Laing or anyone else which might provide further information about such "knots". The patterns seem more wordplay than description to me. I don't see any effective connection between these patterns and real issues I've encountered: I haven't met any Jack or Jill's nor am I aware of having been one. My little brain may spare me from constructing such complicated thought patterns; perhaps I manage to become confused on my own with much simpler ways of thinking.
I'd suggest instead reading Gregory Bateson (if you're interested in how one can get stuck by what's said in a relationship), or something else by Laing if Laing's your interest, or Peter Handke's staggering play "Kaspar" if you like to find real meaning within apparent words of nonsense, or Dr. Seuss if you like intelligent playfulness with words.
